In a recent case study on the Borrego Springs Public Library, CEDA  emphasizes the value of combining different modeling approaches for effective building decisions. Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects(RNT) used energy modeling to understand the building better. This helped them decide to add a second rust-red corten steel skin to the south side. Energy modeling is crucial for sustainable designs, but physical models offer unique insights. RNT also used an on-site model to study sunlight patterns, revealing the need to adjust shading at the northwest corner curtain wall.
